Cat on the roof

This past week was a fairly normal week except for the cat on the roof incident. Tuesday morning, and when I say morning I am referring to the hour of 1 AM, we can hear this cat outside. The cat is not meowing, but yowling! It is so loud it woke us up and we could not go back to sleep. So, Konae calls the police to see if they will come and do something about it, in the mean time I am outside trying locate the beast to see if maybe I can convince it to shut up. I have no luck finding it until I started to walk back towards our building. There it is, perched on the roof! I also notice that on the side of our building is a box with cat food in it and a ladder going up the wall. By this time the patrol car pulls up and I explain what I have found...he isn't really sure what to do. So, within a few minutes 2 more police cars show up and they try to decide on the best course of action...one course did include the use of a gun, but in the end they decided that would not be the most humane way of dealing with the situation. In the end one of the officers climbed the ladder (and of course it was the more overweight of the three of them) and chasing the cat around for a few minutes until it finally pulled a superman and jumped of the roof on its own! Those of you concerned for the cat, have no fear, he ran off just fine, for those of you concerned about the overweight officer, he also descended the ladder unscathed. We were able to finally get back to sleep around 3 AM...and yes, we were tired the next day.

Again, besides that it was a usual week of teaching, working out, and playing with Ryker. My boys volleyball team played their first game of the season against Bennion and won!

Here are some recent Ryker pics...
Ryker has learned to fold his arms when we pray!

Such a funny story...especially about the overweight cop. Ryker is looking cuter and cuter everyday.
