Christmas

We hope all of you had a great Christmas Day, we have enjoyed the Holiday so far. We have spent time with family and friends. Earlier in the week we were able to have lunch with the Lucas family visiting from Alaska, it was great to see them! On Wednesday we went down to Temple Square to enjoy the lights, it was a fun time, it even snowed just a touch to make it a real winter wonderland. On Christmas we enjoyed being at home and opening gifts and then later in the day we went up to Logan to have dinner with Konae's parents and family.

Fall

I love the Fall season the most out of any season. The colors are amazing, the weather finally cools down so you can enjoy the outdoors again, and the holiday season is right around the corner!
The past month has been busy for me with teaching, coaching, going to school, and finding time to enjoy my family. My Boys Volleyball team did great this year ending the season with 6 wins and only 1 loss. This pushed us into district playoffs; the quarter final game was at home and we beat that team, and then moved onto the semi finals. We played away at another school and played a great game but unfortunately lost the match. I have about 3 days and then I start Boys basketball...I will try to keep everybody up to date on how they do!

Konae is still keeping busy with teaching and making sure Ryker and I are taken care of (she does an awesome job!), for example, bringing me dinner every Monday night while I am in class until 10:30!...thanks so much!!

This past weekend we went up to Logan to watch USU play Nevada. They were doing great during the first half but then apparently forgot that the game had two more quarters and ended up losing :-(. After he game we went and took some family pictures up Logan Canyon...if you are going to do pictures, now is the time, the colors are amazing!!

Cat on the roof

This past week was a fairly normal week except for the cat on the roof incident. Tuesday morning, and when I say morning I am referring to the hour of 1 AM, we can hear this cat outside. The cat is not meowing, but yowling! It is so loud it woke us up and we could not go back to sleep. So, Konae calls the police to see if they will come and do something about it, in the mean time I am outside trying locate the beast to see if maybe I can convince it to shut up. I have no luck finding it until I started to walk back towards our building. There it is, perched on the roof! I also notice that on the side of our building is a box with cat food in it and a ladder going up the wall. By this time the patrol car pulls up and I explain what I have found...he isn't really sure what to do. So, within a few minutes 2 more police cars show up and they try to decide on the best course of action...one course did include the use of a gun, but in the end they decided that would not be the most humane way of dealing with the situation. In the end one of the officers climbed the ladder (and of course it was the more overweight of the three of them) and chasing the cat around for a few minutes until it finally pulled a superman and jumped of the roof on its own! Those of you concerned for the cat, have no fear, he ran off just fine, for those of you concerned about the overweight officer, he also descended the ladder unscathed. We were able to finally get back to sleep around 3 AM...and yes, we were tired the next day.

Again, besides that it was a usual week of teaching, working out, and playing with Ryker. My boys volleyball team played their first game of the season against Bennion and won!

Here are some recent Ryker pics...
Ryker has learned to fold his arms when we pray!

Back to school

Well Konae and I made it through our first week back to school....barely.

This will be a busy semester for me, besides the regular teaching i have both Boys Volleyball and Boys Basketball before Christmas this year and I am starting my Masters program so add in a few night classes...it will keep me busy.

Konae is doing good, teaching a full load plus an extra class, and taking care of me when I can actually be at home.

Ryker is his usual charming self, walking all over the place and getting into anything possible.

Bear Lake

We were in Bear Lake for a few days; it wasn't the warmest weather so we didn't ever swim in the lake but we did swim in the pool at the condo. We took one of the days to visit Minnetonka Cave, it was very cool.

Recent Events...

We have been busy over the past several weeks. We went camping again, this time up to the Albion Basin, near Alta in Little Cottonwood Canyon. It was beautiful up there with all of the wildflowers in full bloom. After we spent several day up there we came home and worked on a few minor home improvement items (closet organizers and new blinds) and then most recently Ryker has started to walk and along with that we think he has chicken pox!! There you go, us in the last several weeks.
