Mill Creek Canyon Ski Trip

We have had some great snow this Christmas break so we headed up Mill Creek Canyon to do some skiing.  It was a great day and we had lots of fun. This is where we stopped for a hot chocolate break before coming back down the canyon.

Alana will show you in 3 easy steps how to grow a chocolate goatee !

There were a lot of dogs on the trail and Alana was worried they would come lick her.

Ryker did better today at skiing but he was more then happy to ride in the sled - which you can see from Alana is hard work!

Snow fort and sledding

Ryker is hauling Alana around the side yard as Chris works diligently on the beginnings of a snow fort. I didn't know this but it needs to sit for a night to allow the snow to pack together to make it more stable and less likely to cave in.

The next day we go sledding and at Syracuse High

Ryker was brave enough to go by himself and he even caught some air off a jump. Alana is having a grand time until she accidentally got a face full of snow. Then she was a little scared and would cover her face when she went down, but she still loved it!

Chris got back to work on the snow fort when we got back from sledding and here is Ryker checking it out. He did help with some of it but he really just wanted to play with the shovel that we got.

Watching a snow fort being built is a hard job.

Christmas 2012

Yeah!  Christmas Eve pajama's! They couldn't stand still very well since they were so excited for Christmas!

Here Christmas is looking so pretty and in a few minutes it will be paper chaos.

Here comes Ryker and Alana - I love Alana's concentrated face when she is opening presents it like she is saying what is this wrapping paper made of.

Alana was really hesitant to look at her kitchen but once Chris introduced her to it she would hardly stop playing with it to open another present.

Opening presents from Grandma Susan and Grandpa Bob. They call them their pockets and love to sleep with them.

Chris wondering why Ryker isn't as thrilled about his cross country ski's as Chris was for him to give them
OOOOOHHHHHH what could it be??? Yep new snow shoes for Chris- now there is some excitement!

Here is a picture of the aftermath  You can see the box down by my feet it is a telescope.

Since it had snowed so much before Christmas we headed up to Logan and did some Cross Country skiing in Green Canyon. Ryker liked his ski's but they are going to take some getting used to.  He liked to ride in the sled with Alana.
